Children and families experiencing homelessness, family violence or housing instability often need support that is thoughtful, specialist and connected.

MOSS supports this work through direct child-focused support and through programs that strengthen practitioner capability across the homelessness and family violence sectors.

Current programs in this area include Bright Futures and the North and West Regional Children’s Resource Program.

Who this support is for

This support may be right for:

Children and families affected by homelessness
Children and families affected by family violence
Families already working with a homelessness or family violence case manager
Practitioners and agencies supporting children and young people

Bright Futures supports children aged 0 to 17 accompanying families already being supported by a homelessness or family violence case manager, while
NWRCRP supports practitioners and agencies to respond more effectively to children and young people who have experienced homelessness and/or family violence.

Programs in this area

Bright Futures

Enhanced case management and group work responses for children whose families are being supported by a homelessness or family violence case manager. Self-referrals are not accepted.

North and West Regional Children’s Resource Program (NWRCRP)

Supports SHS, family violence practitioners and other NGOs to respond more effectively to the needs of children and young people.

Can families refer themselves to Bright Futures?

No. Referrals must come from a homelessness or family violence case manager working with the family.

Is NWRCRP a direct service for families?

NWRCRP is practitioner-facing and helps agencies and workers strengthen their response to children and young people.
